Spaceport Cornwall is proud to welcome a major new name to the site – Avanti Communications. The leading Ka-band satellite provider has officially opened its new headquarters at the Space Systems Operations Facility (SSOF) in Newquay, reinforcing Cornwall’s position as a growing hub for global space innovation.
Avanti operates a fleet of four Ka-band HYLAS satellites, offering high-throughput satellite services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. With a secure ground network of seven Gateway Earth Stations – including a secondary site at Goonhilly – Avanti plays a key role in delivering resilient communications and connectivity to government, defence, telecoms, enterprise and carrier markets worldwide.
The move places Avanti at the heart of Cornwall’s rapidly expanding space and tech ecosystem, alongside pioneering companies such as Blue Abyss, Slingshot Aerospace, Intelligent AI, Kispe, Space Engine Systems and DronePrep.
Strengthening Cornwall’s Space Economy
